To make the best use of Send Anywhere's convenient file transfer service, it requires the following permission:
-
Read and Write Internal storage read/write (Required): To send files on the device's internal storage and to save received files to internal storage.
-
Read and Write External storage: To send files on the SD card and to save received files to the SD card.
-
Get Account: To set the default profile name when using Send Anywhere app for the first time.
-
Read Contacts: To send contacts stored in the native Contacts app.
-
Camera: To receive files sent via QR code.
-
Location: To send and receive files by using Wi-Fi Direct through Google Nearby API. Bluetooth or GPS permissions may be requested to locate and identify nearby devices.
You don't need to worry about file leaks. Send Anywhere app simply displays files stored on your device in each tab of the Send menu. Files with formats or codecs not supported by your Android OS version will be visible in the 'Files' tab of the Send menu.
Since Send Anywhere is a file transfer service, it never automatically synchronizes files to a server like a cloud service, nor does it randomly send or delete files stored on your device. File transfer or deletion only occurs when you manually tap Send or Delete button in your app.
You can disable unwanted permission when you're not transferring files. You can set whether each permission is allowed or not. Open the Settings app on your Android device and go to Applications > Send Anywhere > Permissions.
